Welcome to the Visual and Public Arts (VPA) Service Learning page.

If you are enrolled in VPA306S VPA317S, VPA320S, VPA321S or VPA497S, you must select a service learning placement at one of our partner school sites. Our partnerships include schools and community agencies that serve a largely underrepresented population. To complete your Placement Form click Student Forms and follow the directions listed under REQUIRED FORMS: ALL OTHER students”.

If you are a distance learner please refer to the distance learning information located on the Liberal Studies page. Click here for Distance Learning.

All service learning students are required to fill-out service learning placement and evaluation forms online. They facilitate the liability and risk management process, and serve as the official record that a CSUMB student is working in an officially sanctioned service learning placement. For directions please visit : Student Forms.

All students must also sign a SERVICE LEARNING AGREEMENT with their community-based site supervisor and course instructor. To find and download a copy of the Service Learning Agreement Please visit Student Forms.

Students who are majoring in Visuals & Public Art are required to complete two upper division service learning courses before graduation. If you need more information about this requirement please contact VPA Advising at 582-4560.
